The US is having an economic slow down right now that may dip into a recession next year, or the economy may bounce before the growth rate falls into the negative territory. The conditions that preceded the depression of the 1930's are not present in the world economy today, and in fact they are almost the opposite. There is increasing trade and and open markets, not the high tariffs that shut down trade in th 1930's.

Yeah but no one is quite sure when it is going to strike. It's like the faults on the west coasts in the ring of fire? Everyone knows the volcanoes are going to go real big soon enough, and that the big earthquake they've been talking about for the last ten decades is coming as well. But no one knows when.
The next depression the States suffers is going to be big enough to affect the global market. We just don't know when it's going to happen.

Mmm...

Statistics will show that often after a political Republican run as we've had the US will go for a Democrat - or vice versa. Statistics will also show that war brings economics UP & after a Democratic run we go into recession.

Night and day politics being run the same way by each party each 4-8 yrs will keep us on this see-saw.

So......IF we DO get a Dem in office, I'd say a recession will happen. NOT a Depression. We've safeguarded our country too much for that possibility.

Some areas are in it now, with most of the jobs being outsourced, and basic living expenses too high for people to afford. You know it is bad when wal-mart is the best place to work in the area.
