Recently the stories coming out of Ground zero have been .uplifting and the books writen on the Columbine school tragedies were very soul fulfiling.{Rachels tears is a good one} Sometimes when you read about others vercoming a long road, your life doesnt seem that bad afterall!

That's cool that you want to stretch your mind.
My favorite book of all time is Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. It will leave you thinking for a long time.
The Autobiography of Malcolm X, as told to Alex Haley is a good book and a compelling read; you won't be able to put it down.
For religion, "Letters from a Skeptic" is a good one. "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom is good too.
