I am very disappointed with the president's decision. How could you grant pardon to a person who doesnt even admit he is guilty of the crime? and before the decision was made, Erap publicly condemned the judicial system of the Philippines. how could the government let go of the big fish? Doing so only gives an implication that we tolerate criminals and that that it is okay to steal from the government? We must act and send the message that cases like plunder is a serious crime and punishable by law. We are talking billions!

Former President Erap could not possibly admit guilt to trumped-up charges. Estrada was forced to accept the executive clemency, in effect acknowledging an illegitimate administration, because he wanted his dying mother to see him free during her last moments. Gloria seized the opportunity to please the millions of Filipinos who believe in Estrada's innocence amidst the most recent of the long line of accusations of corruption against her. Your fake President, who never truly won the elections, should be the one charged and arrested for Plunder, corruption, bribery and electoral fraud for multiple billions raked in since 2001!!!

Take note that Estrada was offered graceful exit by voluntary exile two times to escape criminal prosecution by Macapagal-Arroyo immediately after she helped unseat the President who won the largest margin in Philippine history. If he were indeed guilty, why the double voluntary exile offer? Wake up!!

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is now in very hot seat following the infamous ZTE deal fiasco and after former priest and now Gov. Panlilio exposed the Malacanang bribery scandal. Gloria's pardon to the former, and still popular leader, is a calculated, desperate move at political survival and national redemption (with the greater number of Filipinos, at least).

Technically, Erap already admitted that he was guilty by no longer continuing to appeal the case for reversion. Thus, he can already be pardoned.
