May I be so bold as to ask for just a bit of decorum in your answers? :)

My opinion is that, since it is a natural process, and necessary for the child's best health, it should be up to the mother when, how and where to breast feed her baby.

However, one needs to be aware that you do open yourself to much in the way of criticism, and unwanted attention, for doing so.

You should be OK if it's tastefully done, as it is in Mexico. You should be able to drape a baby blanket or a shawl over the baby so you aren't exposing your breast unnecessarily. To do so is to invite pervs to take notice and possibly become a threat to you and the baby.

Personally, I think a mother feeding her baby in the manner nature has provided is one of the most beautiful sights in the world.

It is okay as long as you cover yourself up. I don't mind if a woman feeds in public but I don't want to see her bare breast and I certainly don't want to see it while I am eating. Another thing, I find it disgusting and bizarre when woman are still breast feeding their kids at the age of 5. Now that is just sick, can you say pedophile? I am surprised of the nature of most of the responses to your question. Most have been mature and respectful. I asked a question once of why woman don't use breast pumps and I got my head bitten off by quite a few people. I was just curious why they breast feed in public, I never once said that I was against it.

Generally nothing wrong with it and I am against the idea that breastfeeding mothers should hide away in toilets etc like they were doing something nasty - they're NOT. However I will admit that some just seem to use it as an excuse to flash themselves in public. They should be more discrete about the whole thing.

well i think it isn't necessary to let it all lose in public. i mean specially because of the world these days.

Go to the bathroom where its only for females. Or into a stall. or something.

Or get something to cover the baby and the breast if u have to do it in public. like a blanket

I swear i seen a lady walking threw walmart with her tit out and all -- Not something everyone should see. -- I mean ppl shouldn't look at it as a nasty thing but they do.. it should be a beautiful thing.. a child and mothers bond and well putting something into the babies belly.

but it should be covered in some way.. not all out there.

I think that if adults are allowed to eat in public, then babies should be allowed to eat in public, too. Although I would kind of like some warning before I go walking down a hallway and run into a breastfeeding mother. It just....catches me off guard sometimes...is all.

I think it's 110% OK. and normal and natural. We should encourge people to breast feed rather than giving those powder milk to our own CHILD!!!!! USA is the only country that's has the lowest percentage of breast feeding. What does that tell you? we're soo worrying about what others think that it's effecting your own HEalt. breast feed helps reduce breast cancer and your child will be healther and smarter.

If you think breast feeding is gross, grow up. we should tell our kids it's ok and natural thing to do. So they can get use to the system and hopfully breast feed they're own child.

I think that there should be areas (both indoors and outdoors) for mothers to nurse their children in privacy. Though it is a natuaral process, certain people will be offended if done out in the open--and young people may take it the wrong way.

When a child needs to be fed, it needs to be fed, we all know that.

If woman fed how and when and where was required, this subject would be more out in the open and therefore less seen as unusual.
When I see a woman breastfeeding, it is quite different as it doesn't happen very often.

Nothing wrong with breast feeding in public...when a baby is hungry they want to be fed right away not wait until you can walk somewhere discreet so you don't offend anyone.....
I would rather see a mum feeding her baby than see someone picking their undies out of their bum or a guy scratching his Nuts.

I think it's okay, so long as the woman puts a blanket over her breast so no one can see.

When a baby's hungry, it can be very demanding, so it's understandable that women do breast feed in public, but on the other hand, I don't want to see it...so cover up, please.

: )
