I AGREE!!!!! Halloween is an evil holiday dedicated to Satan. The Bible does not mention Halloween in general but it does say things about not doing evils or to remove evil. Here are some Bible verses to show you what God thinks about Halloween.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 ("Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.")
James 1:27 ("keep oneself from being polluted by the world")
3 John 1:11 ("do not imitate what is evil")
Romans 12:9 ("abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.")
Deuteronomy 18:9-14 (do not learn to imitate detestable ways, including spiritists, sorcerers and witchcraft)
Ephesians 5:11-12 ("Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness" / "live as children of light")
1 Timothy 4:1 (don't "follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons")
1 Corinthians 10:21
2 Corinthians 6:14-17 ("what fellowship can light have with darkness?")
Philippians 4:8 (think about pure, lovely, noble things)
1 Corinthians 11:1 ("follow the example of Christ")
1 Corinthians 10:31 ("whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God")
James 4:7-8 (submit yourselves to God / resist the devil / purify your hearts)
Ezekiel 44:23 ("…teach my people… to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.")
Proverbs 22:6 ("train a child in the way he should go")
Matthew 18:6 ("if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin…")
Hosea 4:6 ("My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.")
John 3:19-20 (people love darkness instead of light)
Romans 13:12 ("put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.")
Ephesians 6:11-18 ("take your stand against the devil's schemes.")
1 John 5:19
2 Chronicles 7:14

Most major holidays in the west were originally pagan holidays which were coopted by the Catholic Church. Easter is the goddess of spring. Christmas was originally the midwinter festival. Halloween is celebrated in some countries as "all souls" or "all saints" day, but it has never really caught on like the others. In it's pagan roots, it has nothing to do with the devil, as that is a concept that didn't exist until the church came along. Try "all saints day" if it makes you feel better, but the rest of us are going to have fun and enjoy the candy and costumes.

The bible says not something approximately it being a devil holiday! Halloween originated while the classic Celts ended their harvest. For some reason, on that day, the Celts thought that souls that had already exceeded might come back on that day. that's the place the holiday started. at present, Halloween has became into an exceedingly relaxing holiday that has not something to do with actual evil issues.

Considering Halloween is actually the condensing of All Hallows Eve and was originally created by the early church as a means of more easily converting non-Christians, I have to disagree. Today we know All Hallows Day as All Saints Day, which falls on November 1st. Hallows is another word for Saints. All Hallows Day was also Hallowsmas, or the feast of the saints as mas signified the feast day. Christmas being the feast day in honor of Christ. Hallowsmas the feast day in honor of the saints.

Halloween was for a very long time a religous holiday for the church. Now there are those who don't wish others to know this truth.

Actually it has been a Christian holiday for hundreds of years. The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day", also which is now known as All Saints' Day. It was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Popes Gregory III ( was pope from 731 to 741) and Gregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints' Day from May 13 to November 1. In the ninth century, the Church measured the day as starting at sunset, in accordance with the Florentine calendar. Although All Saints' Day is now considered to occur one day after Halloween, the two holidays were, at that time, celebrated on the same day. Liturgically, the Church traditionally celebrated that day as the Vigil of All Saints, and, until 1970, a day of fasting as well. Like other vigils, it was celebrated on the previous day if it fell on a Sunday, although secular celebrations of the holiday remained on the 31st.

You wouldn't calibrate Halloween, no possible way. But to celebrate it, would be up to you. Halloween or "all soul's day" or "the festival of the dead" would actually be called a Celtic holiday. But depending on your beliefs, it could be a satanic holiday. Samhain, is what you're looking for.

My thoughts.. It is what it is.

I think you hit it right on the head . Halloween is a holiday heavily influenced by Satan .As one of Jehovah's Witnesses we have nothing to do with Halloween. With people dressing up as ghost and demons and the like .

I used to think THE EXACT SAME WAY AS YOU!! Same as my sister. In all truth, Halloween is no more 'Satan's Day' than any OTHER day. I'm not going to 'give' Satan ANY day . . . why should YOU? One last thought . . . never say "never". That's a SURE way for Satan to trip you up!!

I think a holiday is what you make of it. If you make it celebrating Satan then I would say it is a good thing that you don't. Unless you want to celebrate with Satan, then by all means celebrate away.

I don't blame you. Halloween doesn't need a calibration as no adjustment is needed.
