All I ever hear from Liberals is interest rates this and interest rates that, remember back in the 80's and 90's and all the other negative rubbish about unions and Labor. Yeah we were there and went through the same hardships and I also vote Liberal at the time because it was painful but its in the past nearly 2 decades ago and its time to let go.

But in 11 long years what else has he achieved. Me and a couple a guys were having a talk out in the surf. 1 was a Liberal voter (obviously a surfer with no environmental concience) and he could not name another successful achievement.

And in 11 years you would hope this list would be long. Buts one of the shortest list ever.

This country is at an all-time low socially. We have lost that care for each other, and have taken up the 'I'm good, so the rest of you can go to hell'. Howard has ripped the guts out of social services, the states haven't helped but most of their services are joint funded by the Federal Government.

surf<3Ri..Every worker take notice of this answer. You as workers are going to get screwed for the good of business and the economy. You want a sick day and have a mortgage, imagining working for this bloke. Bye Bye Home. He is the very reason workchoices was brought in. If unions are anti-business (i don't believe it) then Liberal is anti-worker. Workers here is the very reason you need to het rid of the Liberal government. This is the very mentallity. More people in work, working for peanuts, no sick pay, no maternity pay (births make growth, growth is the backbone of a capitalist society, yet you still get this attitude). We are going back to the industrial revolution days. You work for a boss, no safety, low pay, your sick, kids are sick, you got a home, to bad!!!! This is the elite crushing the workers.....the very reason unions came about!!! Every worker should read this and be very concerned, very concerned indeed. Heres the proof!!!

fransec...you get the same result with a working poor. You got a good point why workchoices should be scrapped forever. Cheers.

For a change look at it from business owners point of view. The unions and the labor party were sending many business owners to the wall. I am a business owner and for the life of me I can't see why I should have to pay you for being sick, for choosing to have a baby, for your husband to stay home to be with you after you've had a baby or pay you extra money just to go on holidays. I have no problem in paying overtime and paying a bit extra for it. Thats my choice if i ask you to work back then yes I should pay for it. The same for weekend and night work, I will happily pay for that also. Under the new workplace reforms business will prosper and when business prospers more people are employed, more people spend money and the whole economy benefits. Would you really trust a government with no experience whatsoever ( Rudd has never even served on his local council and they expect us to let him run a country) . No aussies haven't lost that careing attitude, you only have to look at how much they raised and helped with the Bali bombings, 9/11, our own massive bushfires of a few years back. Maybe you are just starting to believe all the Labor bullshit that they have been spinning. Trust me if Labor wins it will be the unions running the country and then God help us all.

What has Howard achieved?
1. He has almost managed to destroy the public tertiary education system. Now the children of the rich can BUY a place ahead of a more gifted but poorer student.
2. He has thrust us into ANOTHER war in support of the U.S. without any exit plan which could go on for decades - remember Vietnam?
3. He has sold off nearly every PUBLICLY owned piece of infrastructure that has any value - leaving us almost completely at the mercy of business interests in every aspect of our daily lives.
4. Do you hate having to wait forever when calling a government department? The reason is simple, the public service has been decimated - there simply aren't enough employed to meet the basic demands of the community.

I could go on forever with a litany of penny-pinching cost cutting and divisiveness, but most of us understand that our country has strayed from its path of justice and opportunity for all and hopefully enough will realize who is to blame and vote accordingly.

Well he gave us the baby bonus to encourage those that can't afford children to have even more forgetting about the poor old pensioners that built the country.
Then he sent us to war with Iraq making us a prime terrorist target.
Then he refused to sign the Kyoto agreement along with USA.
Then he turned us into a country of haves and have nots and took away the fair go for everyone unless they own a business and in doing so make us more like USA everyday.
He also signed an agreement to sell off our uranium to the highest bidder Russia and made a pact with Bush to dispose of their nuclear waste.

Maaaaaaaaaate. He has taught us that Social values (Helping each other) is a thing of the past. That being Australian is no big deal. You must place yourself and your family in the hands of your Employer. You as a young family cannot afford a new Home. That it is fine to Dob in a Mate for doing some small thing that hurts the Govt. The time has come the Walruss said to think of other Leaders. Go Kevin.

Woah there!!!

The economic boom that Howard and his ministers have lauded so loudly has been the work of others-namely the Labor Party under Hawke and Keating-remember "Banana Republic"?

This government has coasted on the tough reforms and clear minded policy work of their predecessors. They have also benefitted from the resources boom. Apart from gutting higher education, the social safety net and health this government has played on mean spirited divisive scare mongering (Tampa), outright lies (WMD) and an arrogant belief that the electorate won't wake up.

Goodbye Jackboot Johnny, you will not be missed.

PS Earwax tastes better than Iraqi blood.

I think his only positive achievement is to not screw up the economy he inherited. Labor spent a decade idiot-proofing our economy and it's only just starting to wobble.

He's done a lot of nasty stuff, but good stuff? Um... maybe East Timor was good. The GST was good (but that's the economy again.) He's given pensioners & retirees a lot. A couple of tax cuts (whoops economy) and um... unemployment dropped (but they stopped counting casual/part time jobseekers) and er... I dunno. Hey I know, improved international relations! That Downer bloke is a nice guy.

stop and think.
without the economy so good there would be no work.
No work means no employees
No work means no money
No work means no home
No food
No spending
and especially in todays world, more robberies.
