manuals are easy to drive once youve gotten ahold of it and its more fun too. but i wouldn't buy a new car in manual if youve never driven one, try searching for driving schools that teach it and you'll be fine. just watch out for rolling when you let off the clutch, as you get more practice you should roll much if any at all. i just say this because people have a habit of getting on your *** so if you roll you might hit them. (guilty)

OK, this is not complicated. Unless you have a compelling reason for needing a manual, buy the automatic, and for a number of reasons. Maintenance is just the beginning of it. Replacing a clutch on a front wheel drive cars is terribly expensive. As for gas mileage, it is not so much true anymore that you get much better mileage. Most cars manufactured now have computerized engine management systems that keep automatic vehicles as fuel efficient if not more so in some cases, than a human driving a manual tranny car. Resale value will be higher (yes, I know it costs more to get an automatic, but it is also easier to sell later, and for a higher price.. imagine the response of a potential customer who is looking at your 50 or 60 thousand mile car, asking if you have replaced the clutch yet, and your reply.. ummmm no?). stress will be way lower in traffic... manual sux bigtime in any kind of traffic. As far as performance, again, with computerized management systems, automatic cars are often as competitive as the manual cars, and the only real advantage to manual is if you are an EXTREMELY proficient 1/4 mile racer who has a lot of experience with manual in that environment, which it sounds like this user is not.
So, again, if you have no compelling reason for a manual, go with automatic. But it is never a bad idea to know how to drive a manual just in case you need to in some kind of emergency.

Things you should know:
Manual transmissions
get a bit better gas mileage
used to be less expensive(haven't bought one in a while)
accelerate faster(providing you become proficient)
are more apt to wear and so can be more expensive to maintain
Automatic transmissions
easier to operate(require less coordination)
if not manually shifted or abused experience less wear
require less effort
get less miles to the gallon
last longer
Manual transmissions are not difficult to learn to drive. Do you know someone with a vehicle with a manual transmission who would be willing to teach you? Perhaps you could test it out before you decide? When I was younger I loved my manual transmissions now that I'm a bit older I prefer the automatic(I've become fond of cruise control, too). I must be getting sedentary. lol Hope this helps. Good Luck and God Bless.

Might as well stay with the auto. When I was younger, I wanted and had a lot of manual transmissions. Now that I have some years behind me, I like the auto's. They are just a lot less of a hassle. With the lock up torque converters the mileage between the auto and the manual isn't that much different.
good luck

period in-between supervisor skill he's the chief until eventually the tip of the year. I say, if the Mets make the playoffs he could settle for like a 2-3 year settlement. Giving him the settlement now's no longer a sturdy thought. in simple terms look what occurred with Isiah Thomas after he have been given a clean settlement. The Knicks became plenty worse so its a nasty thought to grant contracts throughout the time of the year.

Hmm. It's hard to say. I'd recommend an manual [because that's how cars are supposed to be ridden], and to just practice on it first.
But it would be more practical for you to get an automatic, since you're familiar with how it works.
The choice is yours. XD
