Try using non-stick cook spray after you hose down your deck after mowing. It'll make clean-up easier, and the oil will help prevent rust. (underside of course)

The mulch blade can be sharpened on your bench grinder just like any other blade, just try to make sure you keep it balanced. After sharpening, put a bolt or pen through the hole and make sure the ends stay level with each other when the blade hangs on the bolt in your hand.

I use a file to sharpen the blade. I also pressure wash the mower deck to get all of the dried grass clumps out from the bottom. I pressure wash the grass bag to make it pick up the clippings better. As for the rust, you can always use a little rust proofing paint and respray the deck after it dries. If you don't have a pressure washer, then just use a garden hose.

good luck.

use a garden hose and a stiff broom to clean it don't worry about the rust if its that important to u dry it off w/ a towel if you don't know how to sharpen the blade take it to a shop and let them do it (but watch and learn) so u can do it next time
