Dude, NO! Satan was created after Halloween. Christians just demonize it because it does not conform to their male dominated lifestyle. It is actually just the Festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season. Think of it as a pagans thanksgiving.

Holloween started out as Samhain.

Samhain was the pegan new year where the spirit world was closest to the world of the living... and spirits more easly roomed the earth. They would leave offerings to the spirits and wear masks to look like them in an attempt to appease them so they would not cause mishciff in the living lands. They would also commune with the spirits and calibrate the new year and the end of summer.

Well the christans didn't like that and in an attempt to appease the people convurted the holliday with others (such as christmass, easter, and a grate deal of other once paggen holidays) into a christan holliday.

It became All Hallows' Day.... or saints day.... and keep many of the same traditions....

The reson the church hated it so much was becose when they moved saits day... the irish keep selibrating the holiday traditions from Samhain in october....

all in all Holloween is just an attempt to kill the Samhain tradition....

No. The term Halloween it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day", also which is now known as All Saints' Day. It was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions. In the ninth century, the Church measured the day as starting at sunset, in accordance with the Florentine calendar. Although All Saints' Day is now considered to occur one day after Halloween, the two holidays were, at that time, celebrated on the same day. Many European cultural traditions, in particular Celtic cultures, hold that Halloween is one of the liminal times of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world, and when magic is most potent.
The modern holiday of Halloween has its origins in the ancient Gaelic festival known as Samhain. The Festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is erroneously regarded as 'The Celtic New Year'. Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. The Ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops. The festivals would frequently involve bonfires, where the bones of slaughtered livestock were thrown. Costumes and masks were also worn at the festivals in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or placate them. When the Romans occupied Celtic territory, several Roman traditions were also incorporated into the festivals. Feralia, a day celebrated in late October by the Romans for the passing of the dead as well as a festival which celebrated the Roman Goddess Pomona, the goddess of fruit were incorporated into the celebrations. The symbol of Pomona was an apple, which is a proposed origin for the tradition of bobbing for apples on Halloween.

Question: When Is Halloween 2013?

Halloween is the eve or vigil of All Hallows Day or All Saints Day, an important Catholic feast. What is the date of Halloween 2013?

Answer: Halloween falls on Thursday, October 31, 2013. It should not be confused with All Souls Day, which falls on the day after All Saints Day.

Some Christians—including, in recent years, some Catholics—have come to believe that Halloween is a pagan or even satanic holiday in which Christians should not take part. As I show in Halloween, Jack Chick, and Anti-Catholicism, this idea is intimately connected to fundamentalist attacks on the Catholic Church.

Question: When Is All Souls Day 2013?

All Souls Day is a solemn feast commemorating those who have died and are now in Purgatory. What is the date of All Souls Day 2013?

Answer: All Souls Day falls on Saturday, November 2, 2013, the day after All Saints Day. All Souls Day should not be confused with Halloween, the eve or vigil of All Saints Day.

A plenary indulgence, which applies only to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, can be gained on All Souls Day. By fulfilling the conditions of the indulgence, you can release a soul from Purgatory. It's a good way to remember a family member or friend who has died in the past year, or to exercise Christian charity on behalf of a soul in Purgatory who has no one to pray for him. You can learn more about the All Souls Day indulgence, and how to obtain it, in Preparing for All Souls Day.

The Day of the Dead – November 2nd

The days of the dead are truly a celebration of life. When children dance with caricatures of death, eat skull sugar molds and learn to respect that life is brief, they learn there is a circle to life and to not fear death and then are free to enjoy and appreciate every moment
Celebrating The Day of the Dead has a long history in Mexican Tradition. The Day of the dead is celebrated on November 2nd. Sometime one hears reference to “the days of the Dead” which refers to the Days of October 31 – November 2. October 31 is Halloween or All Hallows eve. November 1 is “el Dia de los innnocentes” or the day of the children and All Saints Day. November second is All Souls Day or the Day of the Dead.

Some Christian’s hold to the belief structure that every day should be treated like Christmas, - as every day Christ’s love is born and should be celebrated. Therefore, the positive, compassionate attitude that is associated with the Christmas season would ideally be maintained throughout the year. Christmas Day is celebrated formally to remind us of this value. The day of the Dead is similar. During the days of the Dead, some believe that the souls of the departed return to earth to visit with and to provide council or give advice to family and loved ones. There is a belief that this is true every day, but that November 2nd is the day set aside to remember and honor those who

Fete Gede, the Feast of the Dead, is a time when Vodouisants celebrate the ancestral dead who walk with us all our lives. Gede is an important part of every living person as we will all join them eventually.
The Gedes are feasted on November 2nd. In the Catholic Church, this is known as all souls day. Our Sosyete is no different, we celebrate the Lwa Gede as does every other Society in Haiti. Gede is beloved by all.

The Gede Lwa are amazing. They are known for their ability to prophesize, heal, and protect as well as for their magickal abilities. As well as their magickal aptitude, they are known for their humor and their focus on sex. Gede are extremely fun Lwa to be around and they provide the comic relief often needed at the end of a long Vodou dance. They are saluted at the end of a ceremony, although they are known to show up whenever they desire.

The Gedes live in the cemetery. Before our ceremonies to the Gede here at our home, we go to the cemetery and pay respects. Before every cemetery, one must go through the crossroads and we ask Met Kafou to give us passage so that we can attend to the dead.

The Gede are wild. They dance the Banda, which imitates sexual intercourse in a very crude fashion. They dance with a cane, known as baton Gede, and often use this to signify their penises!!!!

They are very concerned with fertility, sex and healing. As such, they are the special protectors of children and they watch over them to make sure they become strong adults. Strong adults have sex and create children, thus the Gede encourage the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

Gede also knows what no one else may. Having the knowledge of the first people to ever roam the planet, there is nothing that they have not seen or maybe even done themselves

Halloween's Origin:

Halloween, as we now know it, originated in Europe on the eve of "All Saints Day," when witches and ghosts were free to roam. So we Americans continued that fall festival of corn shucks and pumpkin faces, cider, donuts and "trick or treating." The truth is, it was brought over from the Satanic Druid culture of the Celts.
