You don't start with an agent like someone else suggested. You need training and experience first.

Get into classes and start auditioning for theatre. You need classes in acting, dance (ballet, tap & jazz) and private voice lessons. You have plenty of theatres in Nova Scotia, but I don't know how close you are to them. Get the entertainment sections from you local newspapers and look on the websites to theatres within an hour or so from your home or however far your parents are willing to drive you for classes and rehearsals. Their websites may have info on auditions and classes that they have. If the info is not on their site, call them and ask where they post audition info and is they have classes for kids your age of if they know where you can find good ones.

Get the training, get the experience, then look for an agent.

First of all, if you've got it & want it... you can have it. But, remember that acting is a craft that you will have to hone. Bide your time by preparing yourself for the day you have a shot to sell yourself. Sounds like you are very confident, but agents and directors will look past that and ask what you are so confident about?

When I say you can have it... I mean that dreams are attainable with a lot of hard work. Since your dad is probably not famous ( I am assuming that ), you will have to work THAT much harder to get where Miley Cirus is. You will have to put a lot of time and effort into just placing yourself at "the right place at the right time." I recommend starting in your local community theatre. Usually there are a lot of contacts you will meet participating in amateur theatre. Also, you will be surrounding yourself with people who are passionate about the craft & can mentor you. The most valuable lesson to be learned is that performing takes long hours and hard work. It takes weeks of hours and hours to prepare a show that looks like it is first time your character has ever spoken their lines...

In summary: Doesn't matter where you are today. Set your long term goals-- break that down into short term objectives to get there. Someone once told me, "Find someone who has something you want... and do what they do." Find you someone you would like to be like & find out how they got where they are today. I guarantee no famous actress will say , "I was just good & happened to lived in a big city." Those might be true, but breaking into "the business" is like an athlete making the NFL or NBA.... they have coaches & teams supporting their talents & helping them show them off. And they have submerced themselves in their talent since they were a child.

First, does your school (or another neighborhood school) have a drama department? Your chances will be a lot better if you have some school experience.

Second, are your parents willing to travel to take you to auditions? Do they have the time; the money?

One thing that you can do is check out your local newspapers to see if they are hiring 'extras' for a movie or TV show that might be shot in your neck of the woods. Quite often movies/shows are done in places other than the ones we think of as 'normal'.

Also, check to see if there are acting or theater groups in your neighborhood. Any experience tops no experience.

You sound like you have a lot going for you. The more education and experience you can get in acting, the better. Even applying to model clothing for a department store's catalog can get you some positive exposure.

You can also take books out of the library on acting, and you can practice acting at home. Even if you can't get into it right now, the more you know, the better for your future.

My son and daughter were in the drama department at their middle school here in the US... though, as they wanted 'fast' money, and took simple jobs just for the money. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. :)

Sorry but you lack the two most important things it takes to be the next miley --- a famous father and living in LA. You may have to wait until you are 18 and then move to the big city and then work on getting into the business.

You need to get an agent!! And some experience even if it's local stuff. Being in a small town might actually work to your advantage. Get involved in local commercials and ads so you can build your resume. Then you will be the next Hannah Montana in no time. Good luck!

You need advice?

From me?

You may not like it. Fair warning.

Advice: either move or give up acting as a profession.
