Hi sam

1 there are 270 members
2/3 of which are new members
so 2/3 of 270=180 are new members.

And in new member 1/5 are children
so 1/5 of 180=36 are children.

2.
Total beads=372
one sixth of which are blue that is 372/6=62 are blue.
Rest are red that is 372-62=310 are red.

Difference in red and blue is 310-62=248 are the red beads which are more to blue beads.

Nice questions Sam!!!

There are 270 mumbers in a club. two-third are new members. 1 fifth of the new members are children. How many new members are children?

the no. of new members = 2/3 * 270 = 180
the no. of children = 1/5 * 180 = 36

_____________________________
Shufen has 372 beads. 1 sixth are blue and the rest are red. How many more red beads are there than blue beads?

the no. of blue = 1/6 * 372 =62
the no. of red = 5/6 * 372 = 310
red ones are greater than blue by = 310-62=248

BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

1. If there are 270 members, one-third would be 90 (270 divided by 3=90), so two thirds would be 180. Then one-fifth of 180 would be 36 (180 divided by 5=36). Just take it one step at a time and you can do it.
2. If there are 372 beads, and one-sixth are blue, divide 372 by 6 and you get 62. Subtract that 62 from 372 to find out how many red beads there are. 372-62=310. 310 red beads minus 62 blue beads is 248 more red beads. Just take it one step at a time and you can do it.

1) 2/3 of 270 = 180
1/5 of 180 = 36
36 of the new members are children.

2) 1/6 of 372 = 62
5/6 of 372 = 310
310-65 = 245 more red beads than blue.

2/3 of 270 is 180 = new
15 or 180 is 36 = Children

1/6 of 372 is 62 = blue
372 - 62 is 310 = red
310 - 62 = 248. That's how many more are red than blue.

(270 * 2/3)/5 = 36.
270 * 2/3 equals 180 (the new members)
180 (the new members) divided by 5 (because 1/5 of the new members are children) is 36.

372 divided by 6 = 62 blue beads
372-62=310 are red beads
310-62=248 There are 248 red beads more than blue beads.

Now, if these were even numbers in your book try doing the odd numbers for practice.

1. 270 divided into 3 = 90 (1/3)
90 + 90 = 180 (2/3)
180 divided 5 = 36
So 36 new members are kids

2. 372 divided 6 = 62
62 beds are blue and 310 are red

310 - 62 = 248
so there are 248 more red than blue

1. probability of child & new member = 1/5 x 2/3 = 2/15, then
2/15 x 270 = 36. The answer is 36.

2. 372/6 = 62 blue beads, therefore 310 red.
310 - 62 = ...I'll let you do the rest.

1. 207 divided by 3 are 90 - 90 times 2 = 180
180 divided by five is 36
so there are 36 children

2.372 divided by 6 = 62 so 372 - 62 = 310
so answer is 310 more red beads
