Actually both(depends on the point of view). You see it means that the guy is very brave and confident and feels secure to show love and affection no matter the time, place, and who may be watching. It is also consider rude because people would think that the guy has no decency whatsoever, and to a dad it shows a lack of respect because I mean as a parent who wants to see a stranger kissing up and flirting with their children,I think it is just a parental instincts type of thing

My dad would have knocked his block off...but that was a long time ago. It depends upon just HOW the guy is flirting, what type of dad you have, and how you are reacting to the flirting in front of dad.

Pretty rude in my opinion. He should be respectful of the fact that your father may not appreciate a guy flirting with you in his presence. I'd probably be a little embarrassed.

It depends on what he does. There is behavior that will get a guy smacked down in my house. There is also behavior that shows affection, and balls on his part.
A hug and a light peck type kiss is great. A handfull of butt and a long french will get him tossed through the front door.
So, I guess it would be up to the parent to judge what he will tolerate and where he draws the line........

It appears to be a combination of both.
But also consider this POV: he could merely
like you so much until he simply doesn't want to take the
chance that you might get away, and then the opportunity has been lost for good? If that makes any sense? Peace.

Rude, especially if you are at a funeral or if it's your college professor at graduation ceremony. Depends on the event and if the person already knows (Both real live scenarios).
I rather have a creep hit on me in front of my father, he could see how well I handle it!

He's brave because your dad could get angry and say something to him.
