The "witches" described in the Bible were poison makers.
The "witches" in the Middle Ages were mythological devil-worshipers who never really existed.
Modern "witches" are members of a religion invented by Gerald Gardner in the 1950's.

Yes I do. My great grandmother was a witch, it was kinda cool to hear her stories and watch her rituals. I was younger then and just though it was a game till she passed away a few years ago and I found her Witch Box.

Seeing as I am one I would have to say yes. Please note, NOT ALL WITCHES ARE WICCAN! And I am getting tired of repeating this again and again!

I am Pecti-Witan (aka Hedge Witch, not Wiccan) a "solitary" practitioner of "the Old Religion", and have been for many, many years. Being a "Witch" is nothing like the fantasy garbage that is portrayed in movies and on Television. There is nothing flashy about it. we are fairly simple people with "abilities" that everyone has, ours are just honed and utilized. Lots of research and practice.

Hardly in the classical sense of flying broomsticks and big cauldrons. But there are those who claim they are witches in witchcraft. So I must believe them if they clearly establish who they are. A person can not argue with another person's self-evident conviction.

Witchcraft is an ancient form of religion....not the kind of witches that "Hollywood" has created. There are still a number of people in the world who practise witchcraft. Probably the most commonly known in modern times are called "Wicans"...
