This house looks good for a starter but it says 1400 dollars, it sounds like bulls*** but can anyone tell me if this is actually the price? Here's the site. http://www.homes.com/Content/ListingDetail.cfm?City=NEWARK&State=NJ&Radius=0&FirstRec=37&OrderBy=price%3AD&Bedrooms=&FullBaths=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=250000&PriceRange=&AmenitiesList=&PropType=%2A&TotalRecs=50&MinSqFt=&MaxSqFt=&LotSize=&MinYear=&MaxYear=&PropIdList=3_52943971,3_52943971,3_31249417,3_56216329,3_57232485,3_57030211,3_56105891,3_56105898,3_56109671,3_56109672&PropId=31249417&NHC=1&searchorig=main#

The company obviously has a computer that calculates down-payments and interest rates, etc. from the amount in the 'listing price' space. From the way the ad reads 'be the first to occupy this apartment', I'm guessing $1,400. is the monthly rental for one of the units. The other information is obviously in error.

Look into it just for fun anyway. It's a very attractive house, and seems to back onto parkland.

Good luck! Oh, and do let us all know how you make out, won't you.

Call the broker is get information. Then if you are interested, you can check with the police for crime rate information. Go to the city clerk to find out where you can go to get information on city planning etc. If you act in a non-threatening way, sometimes city officials in engineering and building inspection will become talkative--if they are not busy with other things. After Christmas is often slow.

I looked up the site,& I wonder if the price is a mis-print.It may be 144,000. Call the agent & check it out.Even at $144,000 It sounds like a good price in N.J.(my home state also)LOL

$1,400..that'd be the price for you to RENT it. (per month) Sometimes houses placed on that website aren't for sale, but for rent/lease.
