I replaced mine. I`ve never heard of that.

If you mean to replace it you (in ontario)must attach a sticker to inform people that it has been replaced because here the car has to go through an emissoion test if it is less than 20 years old but to repair it(if it can berepaired)I dont think there would be a problem.

No it is not illegal to repair it. However on the title when you sell it, you must state that the mileage shown is incorrect, and the true mileage is unknown. Without doing this, it would be the same as turning the odometer back to indicate less mileage on a car.

why would it be illegal?, you can put a new gauge cluster in or one from the junkyard just be honest when you go to sell it when you have to declare the mileage on the vehicle.
