You need to pass the bar exam of the respective country you want to practice law in. However, that does not mean you can't work in the country, you just can't practice law.

Most countries will give you the opportunity to take and pass their bar exam. In the US, that is done by state. But you can't practice law anywhere but where you are elsewise. And you are certain to require some law school classes in order to pass those exams. I should think a good 2 years of schooling, could be 4. Nothing would prevent you from being a paralegal in most states though. You just need to get hired by a law firm.

In any country that you can pass their Bar exam.

There are no set educational requirements to be a lawyer.

You just have to know the law well enough to pass the Bar Exam.
