The doors open for trick or treaterors around 5:30. 6-7:30 is peak trick or treating time. Simply because most people run out of candy by that time.

well i stopped going out trick or treating in 2nd grade...
i just passed out candy
well trick or treaters started coming out around 6:00 but my house is the last house in the nighborhood so im not sure
we always have a lot of candy :]
this group of people came to my house the first and they were high schoolers dressed as football players and they took a lot of candy [not a lot each but a lot altogether] and they left talking to each other about our house being the best so far :D
i guess air heads and dum dums really do the trick...

This year they aren't changing the clock backwards one hour before Halloween day, so the times I stated are for one's safety and to be home at an early time (since it falls on a weekday and most work the following day). If you live in the East, I would say 4:30. Central, Mt. and Pacific time 5:30

Check your newspaper or listen to the news. Most tell the Trick or Treat hours for the city or town.

A lot of municipalities have varying rules regarding how late people can go door-to-door. Some don't allow it at all. Sadly, this is because there are sickos out there who do their bad deeds by dark of night. Just call your local town office to make sure and be careful out there. Have fun!

When people put their pumpkins out and turn their porch light on you can go trick or treating. When the porch light is off it means they are out of candy. This is what we do in our town.
