I usually joke around about my dad being gay (he's totally not) and have started calling him "Dumbledad"

Absolutely!
Have no intentions of seeing the last two movies. It's so weird, just like you said.
J. K. Rowling said that it was quite clear in the 7th book that Dumbledore loved Grindenwal. NOT!
But if we had to go back and read truly nonsense into her passages now (like she did) this is what she made quite clear:
Based on what Rita Skeeter said about Dumbledore's relationship with Harry as being sinister and inappropriate, it makes him out to be a pedophile.
Because Snape, McGonagall, and Mr. Filch never married, they can be considered gay and lesbian also.
Dumbledore's brother, Alberforth, was into bestiality with goats.
Since Rowling has changed the entire dynamics of the books, why not take them to a whole 'nother level and continue to make a mockery of the series?

I never read the books, being over 12 and not interested in crappy children's books, but the more I heard about the storyline the more I just assumed that every character was a homo.

Yeah, I think it was a really big mistake telling people this. All these fans are going to look at Dumbledore differently now. We think of him as this great, strong, and wise wizard, but then we find out hes gay.

Personally, i have nothing against dumbledore being gay.
I do find it strange that rowling revealed this out of the blue. It seems out of place and just plain weird.

I honestly believe she said that just for more hype in Harry Potter and so more people would buy the books and watch the movies.

I don't see where his sexuality had to come into play at all. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. I am not mortified..... I mean really..... what does it have to do with the book anyway????
Does his sexuality have anything to do with his character???
