Career development - School, trade skills, people skills, and/or personal fulfillment goals

Community Service - Childhood/adolesence is very ego-centric. Learn there are others out there.

Travel - See the world, or at least other parts of your country. Learn about cultures other than your own. If your from California, go build a snowman; if your from NYC, go milk a cow.

Don't get married, Don't have kids, Don't live at the parent's house (unless required for school/career development), and don't expect the rewards of life that you haven't earned yet.

Fortunately this doesn't pertain to philosophy at all. I'll give my opinion anyways. I turn 20 in two days, and I am of the strong opinion that one should be in college, not necessarily with a career in mind yet, but working hard and getting good grades. If college isn't an option, make the most of your life, no matter what your age is. Find time to something for yourself. Improve yourself. Take up a new hobbie or language. Surprise yourself.

Like I told my kids, You can do anything you set your mind to.
The world is everything you can imagine. Work hard, set goals, reward yourself, question authority, use your head, be kind, be generous, be patient. Don't listen to the nay sayers, 10 people will tell you you can't, or there is no place for you, or you don't have what it takes. Don't let them tell you who the real person is that you know you are inside. Do what you know is right and follow your heart. You'll find life's journey fun and challenging and fulfilling. Leap with both feet. One more very important thing. Protect your credit and pay your bills on time.

I think the best thing a 20 year old man can be doing, is to be pondering on what to do with his life.
It is wonderful to have the ability to want something today, and change your mind tomorrow. Take advantage of it, and think as long as you need, no need to rush, they will be plenty of time for that when you decide :)

Asking questions of those who've been there- get past th eteenage idea that you've got all the answers and get out in the big wide world and ask as many questions as you can and remember to actually listen to the answers whether they seem 'relevant' immediately or not.

reading as many books as you can get your hands on. Try to expand your horizons while you still have time. Once you get married and have kids, your time for those leisurely pursuits will be all but gone :-)
