We all get a bit grouchy or grumpy sometimes; have bad days or feel blue. How do you help your spouse/partner get out of 'a mood' if they are in one?

-5 points for all who say -stand them on their head - way too obvious and easy an answer. I'll rephrase - How do you cheer them up?

I give him some space so he can retreat to his cave to work out whatever is going on in his own head. I go about my life and interact with him when he initiates it. I have a sick sense of humor that makes him laugh so if the chances arises, I'll make a sick joke. He had a bad day this week and I made a joke about sex and me being on my period. He cracked his first smile in hours.....it was nice to have him back. :)

Usually he just needs space when he's got a frown. Sometimes he just wants to vent, so I just listen at those times. I try to just be very nice and tolerant for the rest of the day. If I keep things positive, he realizes things aren't quite so bad as they seem.

Well, if you're looking for a suggestion, it's not going to work b/c each partner's needs are different. If you're just asking to know...

..I usually go out of my way to do stuff like a foot massage or get him some snacks like cookies or his fav. reese's cups. And I remember to put my shoes away because i have a bad habit of leaving them out in the middle of the floor and he trips on them... :( lol

I attack him with cuddles! Seriously, I just jump on him, tickle him, call him the pet name I have for him and then try to pin him down and call him a wuss. He's much much stronger than me, so me calling him a wuss is just a joke we have together. This usually cheers him up. If that doesn't work, I tell him to go watch some ridiculous dvd he enjoys, watch with him even if it's likely I don't enjoy it, make him a snack if he so desires and listen to him about what's bothering him.

Do something nice for them, watch comedy videos, go for a walk or run together. See if they want to talk about it, but don't hassle them if they don't. Don't let them dwell on it (like I do) but make sure they know you care and want to help or listen. Try to move on to something fun--a change of scenery or a good laugh can make a lot of difference.

Give them a massage. Curl up next to them and watch a movie. Just talk to them and be there for them.

if i haven't pissed him off too bad, i'll be all snuggly, maybe nibble on his ear or something. flirt my way back onto his good side. ^.^

otherwise i just try to reason out a solution to his problem - he's a virgo; he likes logic. ;P

Blow on your spouses belly. If that don't do the trick then I don't know if anything will.
