You can install Windows on a MacBook and then just dual boot between them. Running Windows software on MacOS usually requires either a virtual machine (that allows you to run Windows itself under MacOS) or a compatibility library such as wine (which should run most Windows programs, though not all).

You'll need to pay for a copy of windows and might need to pay for a virtual machine although wine is free (so if your software will run under wine you shouldn't need to pay anything extra).

If you get a MacBook with Leopard which has just gone on Sale in Oz

Apple’s Leopard launches tonight at 6pm and retails for $159. Its server version, Leopard Server, retails for $598 for a 10 seat licence, and $1199 for an unlimited seat licence.

If you get a copy of VMWare then you will be able to run Windows along side Leopard
Leopard looks like this

You can do it yourself very easily.
Windows actually runs faster on a Mac.
