It is not a good idea to name a child after a sibling that has passed away. I suggest usng Lorenzo for his middle name instead. I told my husband that I wanted to name a baby girl after my best friend. My son was born first, but then we lost a baby girl at 21 weeks and I still used the name that I always wanted. My husband asked me if I was sure that I wanted to do that, and then said that if we had a girl later on we could still name her the same. I said no, because if I never had the chance to have a baby girl again I still have the name that I had picked out since 7th grade. Your baby deserves to have his own name.

I wouldn't suggest that, and you have to think that it is going to be easier for you to call the new baby Lorenzo but the Lorenzo he knew is not the one he is holding. You cannot replace thats life, and by naming your child after another childe who has passed, its as if you are trying to bring that person back, and thats one thing you can never do, and if you try you will see that its better to let Lorenzo Jr. be remembered as that, and create a beautiful name together for your new child, and if you truely would like to do something in rememberence of Lorenzo then maybe make you childs middle name Lorenzo. Well good luck!!

well, if the baby that died was named lorenzo and he was alive, would u name his brother lorenzo as well? so you'd have 2 lorenzos??? why take a name of a child that belonged to him (dead or not) to give it to someone else? i wouldn't do it.

George foreman (the boxer) hads something like 8 son's all called George
There's nothing wromg with using Lorenzo as long as the rest of it is different.
So if his other son was Lorenzo Jr, you could have Lorenzo III, or if you give him an original middle name he can be just Lorenzo.
Really it's totally up to you

i suggest that if you want to name your child lorenzo that you do it as a middle name so they will be remembered through that way rather than being like they are trying to replace the lost child. see what your husband thinks as this will no doubt affect him more.

i would pick a different name, use lorenzo for middle name. Lorenzo will always be his first child that past away. if you name your baby that it wouldnt be fair to either of them

I don't like that idea. It's disrespectful to his first son. Try Lorenzo as a middle name

My thinking is pretty much the same as everyone else's on this board, give the new baby his identity, you can give him the middle name as a tribute to his brother who could not be here, but, to respect your man and the child who has passed, let them both keep their identities. I wish you all the best!
I like these names, Christian, Enrique, Damon, and Nicholas.

If you do decide to use it, use it as the child's middle name instead of his first. You can still bring back the memory of the other baby without entirely recreating his existance, so to speak.
