The minature koi's adult size is dependend on the size of its surroundings, it can grow up to 15 cm if in a large environment but in the case of mine they should stay quite small

What kind of water do koi fish need, I live in victoria australia so our water has chlorine and flouride in it, do you need any chemicals ? Or do you need distilled water?

The names are fine! What concerns me is your question about distilled water. Never use distilled water for an aquarium! The complete lack of calcium and sodium can actually BURN the fish! (It's not that good for people to drink, either) The chlorine in tap water can be removed with a commercial dechlorinating product, and even that kind of water would be better than distilled...
The bowl is ok, and I can see where your concern about water-changes is coming from, especially with goldfish, which tend to foul a small container rather quickly. I really hope your bowl is large enough to handle the fish, and if it is, great.

yes those are very nice names!
if i could give you advice, observe your fish first, their colors and their beaviour, that'll help name them!

japanese words:
shiro(white); kuro(black); aka(red); aoi(blue); momo(pink); mizu(water); yuki(snow);
there is also this fact, the japanese word "koi" has 2 meanings, 1 is the fish, and 2 means love, so maybe another good name'll be suki(like); or ai(love)

i guess its okay when they're small, but kois can grow into very large size, or simply just longing for bigger place. natural gravel and lilies are excellent accesories for them! ^^

good luck, hope i helped!

They are such cute names!! I love the shortened version. You do need some special chemicals to put in the water. Get them from your local Pet Shop.
