We are a family of 3 adults who will be in Paris,France for one week in March of 08. We want to stay in Paris for only three days and are wondering if anyone one has any ideas where we can go for 4days anyhere not to far from Paris.Our adult daughter loves to snowboard.Is there any ski area that is not too far from the Paris area that we can go to? Any other ideas other then ski would be appreciated.

France is a big country, and much of it is lovely any time of the year.
I have been in Normandy and Brittany in March several times and while it is even better in summer, even in the end of winter there is enough to do and see.
Paris to the Normandy coast will take just over an hour, to Brittany it might take all of two when you go by TGV train.
South of France, the coastal area, takes about 12 hours to drive from Paris, but a train will get you there in 4 hours.
Winter sport resorts seem to be near Switzerland, about eight hours drive, or more when you need to take the small mountain roads, but the train connections are very good and efficient.

Easiest, I think, is first to search for a time and from there look at the prices.
The best travel guides I know are the Lonely Planet series, and they have an edition called France, but there is a lot of information available for free on internet too.

I don't know of any ski resorts close to Paris, but I have been to Auron which is a beautiful and highly acclaimed ski resort in the southern part of France. If you're up for traveling, I would definitely recommend Auron, it will suit all your winter sports needs!
