my dad is ugly as hell. he is bald in the front of his head and fat. I JUST HATE IT SOO MUCH EVERY TIME PEOPLE SAY, "oh, you look just like your dad." WHAT THE ****! i am not fat and still have my hair! but now i am getting paranoid thinking that i'm gonna start loosing my hair and end up just like him. it is driving me crazy! i have become obsessed with my hair. i constantly examine it to see if i am loosing my hair. i am really bothered by this all the time. it has lowered my self esteem to the point where i feel like i am so ugly that i can't even show my face. i have also become anti-social. but when i look at pictures of me from like a few years ago, i think i look pretty handsome. but, that still does not make me feel better. i still fell like i am getting more ugly everyday and now i am getting really depressed. I feel like total ****. i also get really angry at my father, blaming him for all of this. now, i really don't think this is very normal, but i just can't help it.

People may be referring to your facial characteristics. You are only fifteen! Think about it you mom had something to do with your makeup, but you don't worry about looking like her?
Also you are reacting very immature and shallow. Work on your personality and feeling comfortable with the type of person you are. You could be quite handsome and have a horrible personality and that would make people shy away from you.

People aren't telling you this to make you self conscious. They're probably just saying it as a passing thought, or if they knew your father when he was younger maybe he looked different and you look similar to the younger dad.

I used to get REALLY angry when people said I looked like my mother. I was so worried that I'd start to look like her when I got older! Well, I'm 30 now, and I still look very similar to the way I did when I was 15, rather than looking more like my mom. So as the years went on, it bothered me less and less when people commented that I looked like her.

Yeah, you can't change your genes. Sorry about that. But, you're a mix of BOTH your parents, so you're not going to be exactly like your father. And there are SOME things about your appearance you have control over. If it upsets you so much, why not change your hair color, or your clothing style?

It might help you to talk to someone you trust about it. I don't mean just your friends either, because they can't really help. A family friend, a relative or someone else you really trust. Hopefully they can get you some help, because you shouldn't have to feel so horrible about yourself.

its mostly that you may have the same face as your dad. don't worry about it! i am the same way. my mother is 50 im14 soon to be 15 and everyone ALWAYS says that i look JUST like my mother. I hate to say this about her but she is fat and has a bit of a double chin and it kinda bugs me when people say that. they reason why people say that is because your face may have the same attributes such as eye color and bone structure and so on. shake it off they dont mean your fat and bald. o yea and just watch your weight and things like that just eat healthy dont obsess. and you are too young to start losing hair dont worry about it.

They are saying that your facial features are just like your dad's and that's actually a compliment. From now on, just tell them thanks and forget about.
