Since the thumbs down option really doesn't do anything, except make the person feel like shi- I mean bad? =)

And TU/TD should be restored to questions instead of the stupid STAR system.
Any rating system has to be balanced, and that means being able to give a negative as well as positive rating.
If you only have a positive rating system it will lead to more posts being reported, and that has to be a bad thing when you look at how much is already falsely reported.
PS: Has anyone else noticed that if you give someone a TU after a question is resolved then no longer get points for it. Nice of Yahoo to tell us about this change

Who said that like every day last month? Me! The trolls were really bad last month. They seem to be easing up a bit, but maybe that's wishful thinking. Anyway YES only thumbs up!
Edit: You know Holy Smokes, after coming back and reading some other answers, I have to say that Weatherman has some very valid points. I think I'm gonna vote no too. There is way more reporting going on and that really does affect us negatively whereas the thumbs down just make us feel bad for a little while. I can get over a thumbs down a lot quicker than I can a report or deletion.

I get some sort of gratification every time I give a thumbs down to some dumb@ss who thought they were being cute. I would hate it if they took the thumbs down away.

i dont like thumbs down when the trolls abuse it..otherwise its ok to get difference of opinions,I dont bother with it anyway,love thumbs uping and starring tho,even if i dont answer..cheers
