I went to traffic court two weeks ago and the judge said that he was going to do some research and make a ruling at a later date. I was wondering if there is a limit on the amount of time he has to make a ruling. Thanks!

Under the Rules of Court, the judges are required within the prescribed period, otherwise, they can be charged with failure to resolve the cases on time.

That's unusual but does happen.

Yes there is a time limit but without an attorney, there is nothing you can do. Also, since this is traffic court that means its state district court where there may be specific laws for your state.

You might want to just check with an attorney but I would first call the clerk of court. He may have ruled already but it takes time for the clerk's office to process it then you will receive it in the mail.
