Where did Death go to school? Most schools offer different languages as elective subjects. However, there should be no need to speak any language but English in this country! Learn it or leave!

Did you actually read your own question before you asked it?

Think about it for a second.

We're made up of "many nationalities." That means there is always many languages being spoken at one time or another.
The USA does NOT have a national language and I don't believe we ever should.

Did you know we are one of the ONLY "first world" nations that refuses to teach our children any other language but English? We're so arrogant that we expect everyone else to speak OUR language, even though we don't officially have one.

Because it seems like those that speak Spanish are the only ones that don't care to learn or make an attempt to learn English. My Italian family members all learned English, all of my Polish friends learned English, my Russian friends learned English...

HAHA, "If America is the land of many nationalites"

You just answered the question. Americans speak lots of languages. Not only Spanish and English. There are kids at my school that speak Chinese, Philipino, German, et c.

America speaking Spanish is a class issue, not a cultural one.

Americans living in affluent areas of California, like Hollywood, Malibu and Bel Air have no need to speak Spanish (unless they want to befriend their house-servants).

we don't HAVE to it's still not required in schools (at least not where I'm from) to take spanish and when I went through school I didn't in fact I am still standing by my theory that we should print everything in English only and if you live in our country you learn the language!

We don't NEED to speak Spanish, but it sure comes in handy. We don't HAVE to speak any language in America, but it's beneficial to at least be bilingual.
