on my test, it's written as 34/53. how do i figure out my percentage for this test? did i pass or fail?

To get the percentage, you divide 34 by 53. So that would be about .64. Move the decimal over two spaces, and it's 64%. That's a solid "D." I would say you passed, just barely, but that depends on what you and you're teacher define as "passing."

Take your calculator and do:

divide 34/53. it's 64. if you're on a ten point scale, you passed (with a D). if it's 7 point... you failed.

Well that would be 64, so I guess it depends on the grading system your school uses or if your teacher grades on the curve or not. Grading on the curve would give you the highest mark if you were the only one in the class who got a 64.
