So why do conservatives not support the rights of the states to decide the medical marijuana issue? Is it that they support states' rights only when it suits their political agenda?

I am not a pot smoker, but I believe the people have the right to decide which drugs doctors may prescribe.

Yes, it's hypocritical, just like the three attempts the government has made to overturn Oregon's assisted suicide law. They absolutely don't believe in states' rights unless they agree with the right they're asking for.

Ah, Sir Readalot, there is the rub. States rights have nothing to do with the conservatives, of course. The conservatives want followers. They create a henny-penny "the sky is falling" type of situation to get the others onto their bandwagon.

You are correct. Unfortunately, they support rights only when it suits them. Kind of like when Ronald Reagan showed great concern for the unborn and was truly anti-abortion. But for the children who were already born, he cut out education programs and health care.

Same sh*t, different day.

Well, do you also consider it to be a state's right issue if I take a .45 and decide to blow the brains out of any idiot?
