It seems like this country is more and more putting the kabosh on this countries traditions & way of life, While at the same time making exceptions for the ways of others, Who are not native to this country. Anyone who gets tired of it is branded a racist.. Why is it racist only if your white? but members of visible minorities are allowed to spout off any racial slur they feel.I'm nt a racest in the least,, but im tired of giving up my rights while others are being accomidated in the very rights that are being removed from me.. I was born here I think if people want to come here,, They should have to learn our rules and traditions. leave their old ones home in the country they left

I don't think that is racist at all. We just need to keep in mind that this country is not very old and that we are and always have been known as a "melting pot". With that said, I'm not sure what traditions or ways of life you are referring to. I agree that there are some double standards on race but I don't think that has anything to do with people from other countries. I'm going to use deductive reasoning here and assume that the foreigners of which you speak are not white, so that leaves(I'm assuming) the Mexicans, or if your really reaching and saying the African Americans(many whose ancestors were brought here on slave ships) are from Africa and don't belong. But either way, I think you should remember that you can, if you want to, also "spout off racial slurs". Who's stopping you?? I don't know what right you have had to give up. In this country you still have the right to be a racist a**hole no matter the color of your skin, last time I checked anyway. But I do think that asking people who live here to at least speak English well is not asking too much.

it's not racist at all. recently i read an article about some kind of rally in houston where an illegal was going on about it's *his* right to be able to come here and do whatever he wants - but if we tried the same we'd "probably be thrown in jail" without a second thought. o this pisses me and everyone i know off!!

especially my fiance who drives a truck. he's all kinds of bent out of shape about the gov't letting mexicans drive all over the us, pretty much free-range. that'd seriously screw up a lotta drivers' jobs.

as far as racism, that's such bullsh*t. that's such a puss cop-out. any time things get a little too hot to handle the race card comes into play. i'm not racist, but there sure are a lot of stupid ppl running around.

............the gene pool could use a little chlorine cuz there MUST be something in this water. >:

Hmmm...a touchy issue.
I don't think that the idea that I'mmigrants should conform is racist in and of itself, i think it would be the reasoning behind the proposed conformity that would be the issue.
I believe that some conformity is necessary if one is to survive and flourish in a new place, but im talking simple things like learning the language and abiding by local laws, regardless of whether or not they conflict with religious beliefs.

it quite is not racist. between the flaws that in the time of the previous has made the U.S. the style of achievement in being the rustic with the main freedom is that persons could desire to nonetheless preserve their cultures jointly as adapting and integrating into ours. This u . s . a . is and became right into some new place for persons from throughout to be AMERICAN. it quite is not a race, that's a manner of life. Our leaders and everlasting potential seekers be attentive to that a divided usa is the sole thank you to beat it and wreck it as quickly as and for all. Multiculturalism at its roots became into in no way approximately making people experience inclusive--it became into to divide and conquer.

No, it's not racist. It's only racist if you don't like a certain group of people because of their skin color or nationality. Cultural values are different from race. Unfortunately, lots of people try to use this as an excuse for real racism.

I agree, unless they want to become American citizens. If they become citizens I believe they should have to abide by our laws, pay taxes, and learn to speak our language. I am not a racist either, but I would not move to somewhere like Mexico and expect them to learn English because it is my native language. If they choose to become American citizens they should learn our culture. If I decide to move to another country I'll learn theirs. If they want into this country, learn to take pride in it, if not then in my opinion you should leave.

What rights are you giving up exactly? I was born here too but I probably don't follow your rules and traditions. Why can't you just accept the fact that America will always be made up of different people with different opinions and different cultural backgrounds?

No I do not believe it racist. I don't understand either, why people want to leave a country because they are unhappy there, yet when they arrive in a new country they want to make it exactly the same as the one they left. Seemingly they stuff up one country and move on to do the same to the next.

It isnt racist.
but it is unfair to say that foreign people take your rights away.
since they cannot do that.
what rights exactly are you losing?
I dont think that is the problem you are having.
I do agree that people who come here should know our rules and laws and acknowledge and respect them,
but to have to adapt to our traditions and cultures is just insulting.
I would not want to go to Japan or something, and have to everything that they do.
we adapt our own cultures and traditions according to where we live.
that does not mean that we have to confine ourselves to one place.
if anything, i think that they teach us a thing or two about diversity which us as americans seem to have lost.
we take our countries ways with us wherever we go, as it is all that we know, and what we are used to.
to ask that we abandon that is just ridiculous, and I bet if it happened to you, youd be upset.
its not racism, so much as it is intolerance.
