OO YES, firefighter bailey is back. and this time with some self dignity in his team. Have you seen Toews and Kane so far? And home games on TV? wow I am just so excited about this!

But now, for the all important question. Is it coincidental the hawks seem to be improving ever since the death of "Dollar Bill" Wirtz? I mean Rocky has gotten us out of our "wirtz case" scenario, but I mean, do you think the teams apperent improval is dependent on his death? I mean its early, dont get me wrong, but the hawks look miles ahead of where they were last year and people have been talking about the hawks somewhat again here in Chicago. I'm very excited! Now honestly people, the death of a person is never a good thing. But, from the satndpoint view of a FAN it looks like Bill Wirtz death has not affected the team in a negative way. But what do YOU think about the hawks and what not, can they start getting the job done, or am i just having false hope like in past years?

despite kane and toews being drafted during bill wirtz's reign i think if he were there they wouldnt be as good. look at ol ruttu, he was drafted in the wirtz era as well. idk wat it was but i honestly dont think the system of having the players reach their full potential was that great under "Dollar Bill". just my opinion

Bob - I deal with Wirtz haters all the time. It's sad really when you consider what he did for the franchise (it's only been the last handful of years thay they were awful).

Having said that, and having talked to several people within the organization, there is a sense of chaos right now. Rocky has basically turned the table upside down in a way that Arthur, Bill, and Peter (as well as Tommy Ivan and Bob Pulford) never would have. So, in a lot of ways, Bill's death has affected the organization in a huge negative way.

Had Bill not died, I think the team's play on the ice would be the same as it is. The differences we will see will come down the road when it comes time to sign Toews and Kane and Seabrooke, and Barker and Keith. Rocky still has to hire a hockey guy to head the organization. He doesn't have the experience, and Tallon probably can't do both jobs, so I'm reserving judgement until Pully's replacement is hired (and no Bob, it's not for me!)

This is the best talent the Black Hawks have assembled since Savard and Larmer joined a team that was headed by Doug Wilson. It's going to take them some time to gel. Savard told me he thinks they are almost there - I told him to watch some tape because they have a long way to go. I still see room to grow for this team. Khabibulin gave up a couple of lousy goals to Kessel that he would have stopped in his TB days so that will have to stop as well.

Where were you last season?

Don't mind me, I get really uptight about bandwagon fans and since I am dealing with Philadelphia area bandwagoneers (away from the internet) who can't decide if they are on or off the Eagles and Flyers wagons, I get testy about anything close to it.

OK, so you were here last year. My wrong.

But, the record will show that I said that things are looking good for the fans of the Blackhawks who have persevered under the repressive and tyrannical rule of the fallen Emperor Wirtz.

Gonna throw a wrench into your theory here. Kane and Toews were drafted while Wirtz was alive and I don't think LITY who used to work for the Hawks BTW would completely agree on your theory either.

I think he grooved one for you LITY. Step up and knock her out.

LOL, you people are like sharks when it comes to smelling blood.

I remember this guy from last season. He was nice, even if he's not the most knowledgable or anything. We all learn a lot from LITY.

So don't feel too bad if he blows you away with his knowledge, Bailey. And welcome back. :)
