Let's look at some of the typical knee jerk reactions from liberals, shall we:
1. We need to raise taxes.
2. It helps the elderly and the poor.
3. Republicans help greedy corporations.
4. It's Bush's fault.
5. We need to expand funding for social programs.
6. The program failed because we didn't allocate enough funding for it.
And my personal favorites and most often used.
7. It's for the children (even though 9 out of 10 times it's clearly not, need I say SCHIP)
8. Everything republicans do benefits the rich and hurts the poor (tax cuts, the flat or fair tax, privatizing social security, vouchers for school choice, etc.).
The sad thing is, how many people buy this garbage from the left. Feel free to chime in with some more examples.

I'm not saying it's bad to help the truly needy and elderly. I'm just sick of liberals making claims that it helps them, when most of the time it doesn't. They use these lines to tug on everyones heart strings to get an irrational and emotional decision from people. Instead of actually having people research the topic. And if you oppose it, then you're considered a cold hearted conservative that hates children, the poor and the elderly. It's very sickening.

Wow....another laundry list beating up the strawman. Nobody has suggested raising taxes...the elderly and the poor do need a little help....at least as much as Iraq....the GOP has always been the friend of corporations, they sure don't deny that....Bush is supposedly in charge so his responsiblity is huge..he even called himself 'The Decider'...what 'social programs' are you talkiing about? Sometimes programs do get underfunded...like border security, I'll bet that could use a few more bucks. Some thing are for children as children are one of the few things that most americans have in common..what you do for kids is important to the 'general welfare'. The GOP has always been a friend of the already well off...what else is new? As far as the 'left' is concerned there's hardly a whimper of 'left' left in american politics. The democrats are about where the Eisenhower republicans used to be....not exactly red hot reds. To the current GOP the 'left' is used as their Emmanual Goldstein....if that's a new term to you you can look it up!

We need to raise taxes to pay for the republicans war, which is more expensive because of the privitisation. We should help the poor and elderly. Republicans help greedy corporations! Bush's bad policies are Bush's fault. We need to expand funding for social programs. Programs fail because we don't allocate enough funding for it, thats what Bush says about his war!! SCHIP is for children. Republicans only want to benefit the rich or corporations.

Everything republicans do benefits the rich and hurts the poor (tax cuts, the flat or fair tax, privatizing social security, vouchers for school choice, etc.).
Then why didn't the Republicans when they controlled Congress, the House and the White House do something about the fair tax. Why didn't they privatize social security?
You can't blame one without taking into account what your side didn't do when they had the power to do so.

My theory is that it is one video of a choose group of folk; and all wing nuts, left or appropriate are exceptionally lots a similar sort of fool. however the Repubs are making idiots of themselves repeatedly lower back at city corridor conferences all for the time of out great land. Its the quantity of consistent stupidity that concerns. And no remember your perspectives: do you incredibly desire to look after Anne Coulter? She's great while you're a shrink and want a coaching sort of a character illness. different than that, she's aweful and makes conservatives seem all of the greater insane.

Your list looks pretty accurate to me.
Every year my property taxes are increased to go toward the local school. Every year, and the message every time is. It's for the children, as you said. I know most of that money never goes toward the children, and that most of it goes toward the corrupt teacher's union. People are just so gulliable when they here those four words.

The only "knee jerk" reaction on your list I see is # 4.. Hey, but if you think it's just peachy to cut taxes for the wealthy while borrowing money from China at the same time.. hmmm. Well, you must be F'd up to your ears in debt.. No wonder I keep hearing that one guy has his own con radio show trying to teach you fools how to rid yerself from debt.. Maybe he should talk to Dumbya..

so... it's bad to help the elderly and the poor?
and Republicans don't really talk about "Al Qaeda" anymore... hardly ever actually... it's now "Islamafacists" and "terrorists"...
going after Al Queda is far too specific and doesn't really support their goals... they can use "terrorists" to excuse just about anything...
but, that's a "valid position" in your mind... right?
and don't forget the cons blaming everything on immigrants and "liberals"...

You have to understand that the same man who said we should privatize social security said "if you're interested in avoiding World War III . . . you ought to be interested in preventing [Iran] from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."
There are kids today in science class who have the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon.
This shows that you have to consider the source.
I just wonder what happened to the true Americans who believe in taking care of home.
I just don't see the big deal in helping people in America, especially when our president starts a fake war for profit.
He destroys a country, kills its people then wants to rebuild at our cost... one of the richest countries for oil in the world and we pay to rebuild.
I think they all need to be put in a straight jacket.
