I am very much in love with the stage and acting, and I do have credits beyond high school (community theatre), and enjoyed every second, but do you think it would be smart? Now for my main questions.. What are good scripts and plays and playwrights for high school seniors going to audition for colleges for theatre in some prestigous establishments (NYU, Carnegie, SUNY, and some other places too). I am in the process of looking for monologues (from real plays not forensics) for all these auditions.. I have been told not to obviously use parts too much older then me, and most colleges have specific requirements. Wheres a great site to find good parts for me and also how do i find these parts? I don't want to buy scripts for $10 when i could find one just as good for free or alot cheaper, especially if I do not like the play after reading it.. All bookstores nearby don't have anything for me. I am looking for a perfect character for me to perform, but yet have no clue how to find him...

Well, you haven't read enough plays yet and have been derelict in your duty to do so. Your bvest monologue would be something uniquely suited to you, something you could be cast in, something which is a surprise to the the auditor, and something that has an ending which leaves the auditor gasping for more. Ever hear of the library? All the ones I ever went to were filled with plays. Have you had training in how to audition for these schools? You sound as though you could use a mentor.
