What is the best way to clean old LP's purchased at second hand shops?

Just bought a turntable today and picked up the first 5 albums for my collection to be. They appear as though they could use a little TLC though.

Your question brings back memories. I used to volunteer at a local library & clean records with a special spongy pad impregnated w/ a moist cleanser.
