Ok. For a week or two, I've been having problems using the bathroom. I would have the urge to use it, but then I would have a difficult time doing it. Then, little pieces of poop would come out, but it didn't neccessary look like poop. I don't know any other way to describe it.... and sometimes, I'm guessing it's blood that comes out. And when I wipe, it's a red-ish, moist type substance. Going to the doctor's about this problem is so embarrassing, so any suggestions on what it might be? before I go to the doctors?!

Thanks!!!!!!!

This could be a serious issue or not.
Sometimes it possible to have a impacted bowel, when this happens it's hard to pass stools, and may result in small stools with blood. Also a stomach ulcer can cause blood in your stools. From what you explaining I would tend to lean towards a bad case of constipation, You should consider the use of lots of fiber like vegetables and leafy veggies. Also a mild laxitive and lots of water.
You should never have to strain to have a bowel movement, if you do you could cause anal fisures which are small tears in the rectum, or you can have a complete bowel impaction that may require anything from a warm enima or the worst case is surgery.
Follow up with your doctor, but in the mean time, watch closely for bright red stool and increase you water intake and use 2 dulcolax tabelts daily and increase the fiber.
Do not force your stools and should your stomach become painful or bloated you should seek medical attention immediatly.
Best Regards.

I don't want to alarm you but having blood in the stools is always a sign of an intestinal problem which should be consulted as soon as possible by a physician. It could be number of things like ulceration, infection, perforation, etc. which might be detrimental if left untreated. Two weeks is a long time already and still not resolved. You may need battery of tests to find out the cause and some strong regimens to combat the the illness. You always have to remember that, "An ounce of Prevention is worth more than a Pound of Cure.

Going to a doctor for this problem should not be embarrassing. Doctors see these types of problems all of the time. So please see a Doctor as soon as possible. You cold have anything from sever constipation to cancer. It also could be hemorrhoids. The doctor will do some test and let you know as soon as he can. But I can not stress how important it is that you go to the doctor now. Good Luck and please let us know what you find out.

Sounds like you have hemmorhoids - any rectal bleeding would be apparent when you went to the bathroom and would be more than a little red on the paper - however noone but a doctor can give you the real deal on what it is and I would defintely recommend seeing a doc b/cuz you may have a GI bleed or bowel obstruction...please see a doc asap! You can die from bowel ailments which is much worse than embarrasment of a doctor visit.

Could be a fissure in your anus. This would produce a streak along the surface of your stool. Could be a polyp in the rectum, or a hemorrhoid.

Obviously, what you need to rule out is colon cancer. Finding and treating early is key to survival. Don't put off seeing the doctor.

Sometimes blood with poop comes because you eat spicy and hot food... if that is tru??? try not eating spicy food and see how you doing.. and check out a doctor about that..

Go to the doctor and get scheduled for a colonoscopy.
Blood there is nothing to fool around about.
Then you will have it over with and know what is going on.
It's really not that bad.

It maybe embarrassing but it is necessary. This is what doctors do. You are constipated which can lead to many other health issues. The blood you believe you see is most likely from you straining to go.
