I remember most of them. It sure would be fun to do them now without all the aches and pains and shortness of breath. Used to be able to dance all nite, and never had a weight problem. Once the metabolism slows and menopause creeps up on you things change.

I remember all of them. But the only ones I did, were the the
Twist when it became popular out here in '62. And I loved
the Stroll, back in highschool. But the others I only saw kids do on Dick Clarks' American Bandstand. Funny those others never made it out here. Everyone tended to just do their own thing at dances, except for the Bop, early on. The Locomotion, Pony, Mashed Potatoes, Watusi, Bristol Stomp
and Hully Gully were all after I was out of school.

I remember most of them. I have the music for most of them too. I don't remember doing the Hully Gully, though.
I also liked the Bunny Hop. We did it in school, and went up and down stairs, and bleachers. It is a miracle that we are alive today. This was also a tradition at a lot of wedding receptions (later in the evening).
[ mentioning the Locomotion could infer your age!!].

~Oh goodness gracious! Not only do I remember them but danced all of them. No wonder we were all slim and in shape then!

Do you remember:

1. The Grind
2. The Fish
3. The Motown
4. The Dip.

By the way, are you an East Coast senior?

EDIT TO GOLDWING: You do the Argentine Tango and you ride a Gold Wing? Be still my heart!!!!!

Yes, I remember most of them. I loved doing those dances. My husband and I went to a retro 50's night held outside, when we lived in FL. We got 2nd place in a twist contest, I could twist all the way down and back up. Will have to see if I can do that again sometimes. LOL

I remember all of them. I was sitting in the doctors office today when me and this other man suddenly heard "Monster Mash" playing from a toy at the other end of the waiting room. He was laughing and singing the words while I laughed and mashed the floor with my feet! It was a fun song, as were all of them!

I'll bet you are about 60. I went to my first "grown up" birthday party when I was 13 and we did the same dances. I'd forgotton the Bristol Stomp and the Watusi.

All of 'em.

How about:

The Bop
The Stroll
The Jitterbug
Cha-Cha

And, for us country fans:

Tennessee Clog
Texas Two-Step
Cotton-Eyed Joe (Bullsh**t version)
Texas Waltz
Schottish

Today, most of the dances look like one is having a seizure.

Every single one of them. I remember how surprised I was to find that my mother liked the Stroll. I won a Twist contest once. That was my entire dancing career.
