We sang this in the fourth grade. I'm not sure if it's from the 1960's, but here's the song we sang. It's called "Fifty Nifty United States"

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies;
Fifty nifty stars in the flag that billows so beautifully in the breeze.
Each individual state contributes a quality that is great.
Each individual state deserves a bow,
let’s salute them now.

I can only think of Johnny Cash song called "I've been Everywhere" (which is used in a televised motel commercial).
JOHNNY CASH LYRICS

"I've Been Everywhere"

I was toting my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road
When along came a semi with a high canvas covered load
If your goin' to Winnemucca, Mack with me you can ride
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand
And I said, "Listen! I've traveled every road in this here land!"

I've been everywhere, man

There are a couple of songs I can think of that might fit:

I've Been Everywhere - Hank Snow

High School USA - Tommy Facenda. This actually came out in late 1959 and there are 28 different versions of it. They all mention specific high schools in different parts of the country.
