What is the weapon called that the skeleton is holding in this picture? Sry you cant see the full picture but you can still make out the top axe. Its one of those things skeletons carry round- i forgot what its called. Its on this website:

Answers correct. A farming implement, used for cutting down stalks (e.g. grain of all sorts). Only used as a weapon when a real weapon was not readily available. The connections with death are manifold (and mostly obvious)

"The Grim Reaper" (reaping is what you do with a scythe)
The connection of cutting down grain when it is standing tall (but ripe), just as a human dying though still able to stand

scythe -- used for harvesting crops or in the case of Death is an instrument for cutting down the person whose time has come to die.
