I really think I have it, but I'm too embarressed to tell my psychologist about my compulsions. I don't want people to think it's to get attention because it's not. Here are some of the things I do:
1. Always walk 12 steps from the stairwell to my front door.
2. Never step on a crack, and I can only have an even number of steps before I walk over a crack, unless it's 1 or 3 and not on 4.
3. When I brush up against something on one side, I have to on the other side too.
4. I wish my hands until it feels "right."
5. I don't touch doorknobs.
6. I wash my hands very often
7. I always eat in the same order.
8. I never eat without doing certain "rituals" like locking my doors and washing my hands 3 times and making my bed. My bed has to be made if I want to eat.
9. If I say something wrong, I have to say it right 3 times.
There are more, but I think you get the point. One of the really bad things is my perfectionism in school. If I make a B, or sometimes even a low A, I feel like cutting myself. I think that's kind of a compulsion too... Good luck with your research or whatever. ^^

Yeah, but it is on the 'mild end' and that means that I have lots of control over how out of control they get...if that makes any sense. The offical term is OCP, meaning I have the trends, but not a full blown version a'la Jack Nickleson in As Good As It Gets...
My OCD things are food rituals and lots of issues around eating and choices, door locking and checking to be sure they are locked, bedtime and morning rituals (all things have to be done in a certain order), and when I was little I used to have 'prayers' that I had to say to myself in order to sleep. That last one has eased up some, it used to take me hours before I could sleep. I take meds for it and can usually be okay as long as I stay on them. Sometimes the desire is there but I can talk myself out of checking the door for the third time in a hour...

I have a touch of OCD and ADHD. Most people that have OCD have ADHD or ADD as well. Not everyone, but some do. I'm also Bipolar Type 1.
