Granpa: You mean have people wait for six months before they can get that cancer out of their body? Or put tax payers name in a box and pick one out hoping its you. No thanks.

Charlie: I'm not denying that the US healthcare system is ****** up. I'm just getting halfass answers and others are saying to blindly let govt control our healthcare. And yes I do know people who are from Canada. And some have been known to come down to America to get healthcare because it takes to long for them up there.

The wiz: She is making slow steps towards socialized healthcare. She's forcing people to buy health insurance. There is a lot of govt regulations and force on our healthcare system in her plan. It will make our situation worse.

Razz: That sounds like a quote from Ron Paul.

Delphi: Who's going to pay for it. There is no such thing as FREE healthcare, its taxed. That's how beauracrats recieve that type of healthcare they have. They tax hard working americans so they can recieve luxery and I think its pathetic.
Beauracrats don't deserve "free" healthcare.

1. The reason ppl view our system as the most privatized is because our public pays more for the same care than other countries... when I say same care, I am referring mostly to pharmaceutical products.

IE) The same drug made in the USA by an American pharmaceutical corporation will cost 100% less in a different country it has been imported to.

2. Your question is... well you are asking what we can do for the healthcare system... I would ask what we can do for the ppl that need healtcare. There is not a lot wrong with the actual healthcare. We have great healthcare IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.

3. If you reverse the question, I am for a complete socialized healthcare system. Maybe it will reduce the care a bit; but, so be it. I think it is immoral to make a profit off someone else's being ill. My mom and I were discussing this once and she was referencing the lines and long waits she had heard of for ppl in Canada. I said to her, "I'd rather die in line than die because I had no money to ever get care." It is appalling that ppl with money get to live while those with no money simply die.

First make sure to insure the quality of the system; while also making it available to all persons, because health should not be based upon what a person's financial worth is.

Healthcare is one aspect of life; that is not political--and politicians cannot create a career out of other persons Life, Liberty and pursuits of happiness, including healthcare that maintains the quality of life.

Free choice in healthcare, and a system of insurance that does not limit access to specialists.

I believe we should all have the same "free" health care the President and Congress enjoy.

Doesn't matter who pays for it. What is this elitism? They are allowed the best this country has to offer but the rest of us aren't. And the rest are out there whining about this. It seems riciulous to me. When HMOs are allowed to decide you aren't allowed a treatment. When people are losing homes etc. due to outrageous health costs. Yet those that sit on "The Hill" have no worries in this area. ********. This shouldn't even be an issue in this country.

They should make insurance more affordable for every one, not give everyone health insurance with the goverment, because then it will up to them only and will dictate what one can or won't qualify. That won't work that is how it is now with the Medicaid only providing certain things. Affordable insurance for all can be a good thing.

I think that there should be schools that educate people for the healthcare field and the cost should be assisted by tax payers dollars. If there was a lot of healthcare workers and providers there will be a great amount of supply and the demand would go down. Ta-da!

Help them establish way to self-police and self-insure.
When ever government or charity monies are used to develop drug then government or Charity should get patient and right to manufacture market and distribute auctioned off in ten year periods to company that say they can do it cheapest.

Simple universal health care, it is a system that works in many countries and can solve many of the health care issue that the United States has today. If Bush can use socialized medicine for himself and his family why can't the rest of the US population.

Have you talked to anyone from Canada? Everyone I have LIKE their system. I've NEVER seen any license plates from Canada at clinics that I've used. I just did work for an intern and his wife from Finland, he was from Australia...I asked what they thought of the US system, and they both just shook their heads and said, DUMB.

Flood the country with as many immigrant doctors and nurses as we can find, while putting limits on how much money they can wire back to their home country. This will drive down the cost of services and thus the cost of insurance too.
