Tempe, AZ is a good calm place. It can be noise, every town is. Tempe has nice places. They have good food, like the new Kabab Palace on Elliot Rd. (I heard it was new, so I checked it out.) They have nearby stores. I mean seriously, I found everything in one shopping center! and yeah.....the only thing that you dont want to touch are the cactus plants LOL! but all and all tempe is nice.

Tempe does not have a terrible crime rate. When I lived in Tempe last year I walked for exercise at 5 in the morning with no problem.
Tempe does have some low income housing, but for the most part it is a nice place to live. Tempe has a law that allows crime-free housing, meaning that if a person has a felony, the apt building cannot rent to him/her. I'm not sure if it's required by all apts in Tempe.

ASU, lots of singles clubs and nearby restaurants. Relatively inexpensive apt costs, excellent weather for lots of outside recreation activities. Cons are traffic, many car thefts and hot summers. Beats the heck out of cold winters, humidity and bugs, not to mention, rainy weather...

They're "urbanizing" it. Brownstone & loft construction....a trolley.....a city life where you don't really need a car - which is new for the Phx metro areas bc we've always been so spread out.
I think it's neat & if I was single & childless I'd give it a run to experience it.

College town caters to that crowd entertaiment, shops, resturants, bars, music venues kinda located nice to scotsdale a bit uppercrust crowd... the side of town under 20 something crowd...

It's beautiful once you get outside the city but has a terrible crime rate, and obviously the town is rife with drunk college "bros".
