We are constantly beng told in advertising that things are " the biggest & the best " & that we need it ! Is this a good enough reason ?
The Mcdonalds " Big Mac " is a perfect example...I have never had one but if they can sell that as big then they can sell anything !

I don't know... maybe to convince ourselves that we are not a grain of sand in the desert or a drop of water in the ocean on a small planet in a vaaaaaaaaaaast universe ...

I'm feeling really insignificant right now. Can you give me that super size meal please with the extra large coke?!

Well dear...
Sorry to tell you that you are wrong.
I agree with you that sometimes BIG things infatuate us or our society. I have seen also that sometimes exists a kind of competition about that.
Everyone want to be the owner of some BIG...( as the example you gave - McDonalds' Big Mac)
BIG things most of the time are rude..and not fine.

There are SMALL things that are cute.. dont you think so???

I'm thinking abt some example, and I think that I found the perfect one......"french exquisit perfums" Arent they small and fantastic ???

Big mac is not that BIG in Egypt, since they are doing the beef's size less than 1 cm!!!

Greedy people who demands big stuff or large amounts of something. A human can live with the least stuff surrounded by him but only if there is satisfaction and self confidence and not being arrogant.

Well, ARAK need only be taken in small doses, and the effects are much more amicable than those of a Big Mac. So, have so ARAK and think about life and all of your questions will be answered in a clouded highball glass with some ice. Cheers. Peace, love and ARAK!

It is a marketing ploy, pure and simple. A need for BIG things was made when the regular size was perfectly adequate. Of course, some things ARE better bigger, but that is purely a personal matter. Take for example, pricing on Laundry detergent, to name one of a few I can think of.

I guess BIG really gives the impression of greatness... come to think of that and I understand the reason for the name of a supermarket chain here; BIG SHOP...It was getting very BIG, so Wall-Mart bought it...
People tend to think that size shows how successful you are... a BIG car, a BIG house and then they get a BIG stuck up nose...

Because, to some people, SIZE matters?
Big, is not always better.
Like, a big strong man eating an over sized burger?
He is a real he-man.
Like, a big strong (overweight), woman, with a mustache?
No, you do not want to know anything about her?
RIGHT?

Well they saying is bigger is better, in some cases, that is true (ask,me, lol) but it is the basic human need to want MORE, than we need or can use.
