advantages: little to none, disadvantages: bad credit rating for years, remaining debt or other obligations, possible poor money skills. If he's now making a ton of money, you could live a "normal" life. You need to understand the root of his bankruptcy (i.e. business failure, loss of job, divorce, gambling, drugs, etc). Protect yourself and your money.

The disadvantage of marrying a guy with a banruptcy record is that you may not be able to geth things like houses and cars immediately. Also, if he was married before, it may seem like his first wife got all the perks of his credit before it was tarnished. It could lead to some feelings of resentment toward both. The advantage of marrying a guy with a bankrupty is that if you are truly in love with him, together, you can build a life. Working towards a common goal of financial freedom and prosperity can bring you closer together as long as you are both on the same path wanting the same things. If you build a life together on this basis, noone can take it away from you and you can eventualy be proud of what you've accomplished.

Depending on how you think of it. I mean, if it has been more than 10 years it should be off his record, although he can file it again in 7 years. I would consider if he had to file bankruptcy due to unfortunate circumstances, or just because he has a poor money management/spending problem. I mean, consider what your future will be like if he has bad credit and you have good credit. Once you marry him, even if you keep your finances split, you are now associated with his social as his spouse. He can bring your credit down, and in some ways you can help to build his with your good credit history. Actually it is easier to get credit after bankruptsy to finance a loan, when you have no bills any more, than it is to get credit with a ton of bills outstanding left un paid. I would also meditate on this and how much I am willing to sacrifice my life and savings on someone that has no credit. To me this depends on rtheir age. If they are young and have 10 years to build their GOOD credit back and still be able to provide you with a good home and a life of stability, then I wouldn't worry about it much. If you have no credit either and no stability then you better think twice before you sign your name away. Find a man that has it all! LOL!n Only a joke. Honey, if this is the worse problem he has then I again would not let it break up a good thing. If he has more deeper problems and this just adds more wood to the fire then tuck your tail and run like a scolded dog! LOL! Best of luck to you!

Disadvantage...you will be paying and applying for everything. He has no credit, he has nothing to lose. Can you imagine signing for everything and he/she walks away...who will be left holding the bag and then will probably need to file for bankruptcy?

Advantage...your call. Seek assistance from a consumer credit counselor or a marriage counselor before hand.

Good luck.

Depending on where you live a bankruptcy can only show on his credit record for a certain number of years. By marrying the person it may possibly affect your ability to get credit until such time as ity is gone. You may want to check into what the rules are where you live.

How are his finances post bankruptcy? probably best to keep all your own assets in your name until you find out if he's going to drag you down too if you jointly own and owe things. Finances are a major cause of divorce.

There isn't any advantages! But plenty of disadvantages.
Even if he has a good job he doesn't pay his bills and over spends and will never have anything to show for what he makes. He is a real looser and better find someone else.

Want to marry the guy? Who cares? Put everything in your name. As long as you have good credit, there shouldn't be a problem.
