If he's not interested, you should leave him alone. Forcing him to do what YOU want him to do may cause resentment.

let him do what he loves,he is only 13 and thats the age to enjoy and not worry about future careers in sports and all,as he grows older he might consider football or basketball or he might even take up swimming as a career, remember Ian thorpe's sucess is greatly influenced by his 2 meter frame (6'8 I think) so you might have another champion in the making

He's only 13, as kids get older so do their interests. Let him grow up some and he might change. Try to be really involved and support him in whatever he wants to do. After that he might be more open to more things.

Accept the fact he's not into sports except swimming and be there to support him 100%. You had your childhood. . . now let him have his. $:)

why would you push him into a sport that he is not interested in? he won't do well if he doesn't enjoy it. there are a lot of swimmers that are his size (6 ft) and if he really trained he could go far as a swimmer (nationals, olympics)
