It's not the end of the world, but it is the end of the season
It sucks when your team is eliminated but there's always next year

Yes, but only for about a day. The world tends to bounce back just fine.

Teams which have lost the WS in the past 20 seasons without also winning at least one to help mitigate the agony:
Detroit Tigers (last win: 1984)
Houston Astros
San Francisco Giants (last win: 1954, in New York)
New York Mets (last win: 1986)
San Diego Padres
Cleveland Indians (last win: 1948)
Philadelphia Phillies (last win: 1980)

Older fans of these teams know the feeling of being close yet denied. And probably every single one of them was ready for Opening Day within the week.

It's not the End of the World, but isn't that every MLB team's ultimate goal? Win the WS?

Manny Ramirez is a great athlete, but he's not a team player. What MLB player is stupid enough to make a point like that? Oh yeah, Manny. And to throw up his hands on that one HR he hit even though they were still down by a bunch? Talk about stupid. That's like Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson dancing in the end zone with their team down by 4 TD's with one minute to go in the fourth quarter.

It's not the end of the world, especially for fans, unless they were stupid enough to gamble away their life savings and lose.

Being a sports fan should never run or be the center of your life. There's more to life than sports, even if you are a professional athlete.

My team lost on one of the most infamous calls of all time in 1985. To this day, Don Dinkenger (sp) still gets threatening letters sent to his house 22 years later (not from me, of course)! Posters hang on tavern walls with Todd Worrell's foot on First Base and the ball firmly in his glove. Did the world end?

You're here aren't you?

It took 21 years to get back to that moment and achieve the final out and hoist the Commissioner's Trophy into the Busch Stadium sky. Like a vacuum, all those years were erased in a flash, including the 2 years prior, and it was 1982 again!

Well no of course not. It's not the end of the world if my team or any team that I like as a matter of fact doesn't win a championship as there is more to life then sports and winning championships but it is a bit of a disappointment when your team doesn't win.

i will take a great flyer - because of the money the club will could desire to spend on unfastened brokers in 2008 - and say the San Francisco Giants, who've by no skill gained a international series (the manhattan Giants have gained 5, the final in 1954).

As a Bears fan, not winning the Big Game sucks. As a White Sox fan, you either win the World Series or your season is a complete failure. As a Cubs fan, 100 years is too f'ing much. And as a Bulls fan, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, we had Jordan! As a Black Hawks fan, Ding dong the wirtz is dead, the wicked wirtz, the wicked wirtz, ding dong the wicked wirtz is dead!

it actually would be the end of the world. there will be a giant earthquake and the entire world will split in half. then crumble into 6,000,000,000 1 tiny chunk of land for each person. but then a typhoon will wipe out everything.
