How can a party be nationalist and socialist at the same time. In 1923 in Germany, a fella called Hitler said he was , and the rest is history, as they say. The SNP in Scotland say they are both too.... I fear for Scotland

National Socialism is a bizarre form of fascism in that the government does control a lot but will lety you be successful if you are "loyal" to the party. The pure form was in Germany was lost when Ernst Ruhm was executed, Brownshirts were disbanded, and strikes/labor unions weree disallowed.

well Hitlers political party was called the national socialist party. of course they are not ugly bed partners. the combination of the two came together from the idea that a nation IS!! the people. because without them, its just a dormant piece of land. socialism is 'well!! what it sounds like'. a movement to put people's interests before the national interest BUT!! it was realised that the two were in fact the same. and Hitlers party proved that a happy people with purpose! automatically concluded in a powerfull nation. the fact that it all went horribly wrong was a pity. because for a while it really did work. so much so! that it had admirers like our royal family and many many other powerfull people. the fact! is that nationalism with imperialism!! is the dangerous combination. a pride in ones nation is a good thing and has the effect 'to an extent' of being comparatively self policing.

Actually that is the art of fascim; to leave you concerned between what is proper and what is socialist or not based in individual rights.

It simply creates anxiety and the concern that you are not being enough of a nationalist, in the current presentation.

Individuality, as well as access to an unbiased Justice system based in individual rights is the true barrier to Nationalistic practices.

Nationaism and Socialism are ugly enough by themselves. I'd hate to see the offspring they'd create together.

I don't know, but Hillary and Bill sure are. Just look at the result of their procreation together. Chelsea is a great example of why Democrats should not reproduce.
