I have read it - and the other books in the series. Absolutely heart rending. Go and get the other books and read about the rest of his life. Strongly recommended!

I know!!!!!
that story is SOOO sad, I can't believe how mean an ruthless a mother could be. She ev´n had other children, but put all her angry toward him! Tried to burn him, starve him, hit him, and embarrass him!!!!
It was very hard to read that book, to sad. Though I still want to read the other books in the series.

I think anyone who reads this book will come away thinking what courage this boy had to survive all he had to endure. It will also leave the reader with a new image of what a mother can be.It is difficult to believe that the person who is expected to protect their child from all harm is the one who inflicted so much damage to her child. He must have had such a strong will to live to survive all that he did.

I haven't read it but my fiance has and has told me some of the things done to the boy in the store. I find it hard to believe someone could be treated that way by another human being.

You know the worst thing? I know people who were abused worse than that. Some people just aren't worth their daily supply of oxygen.

My crazy friend Kane...he was reading it, and I didn't really ask him or anyone else that read it. My Language Arts teacher said that it was just so sad...that's all I heard about it. Really.
