What makes you think they even care about the fetus?
Republicans have made Pro-Coathanger part of their platform since 1974. They've had Supreme Court majorities since the Reagan Administration, They've held the White House through 5 of the last 7 Presidential Elections and had a strong Congressional Majority from 1994 until last year. And the most they've been able to do is ban late term abortions when the mother's life isn't at risk.
If Republicans were serious about overturning Roe v Wade, they could have done it by now.
The Republicans only pay lip service to Pro-Coathanger. Actually winning on the issue would deprive them of one of their best campaign issues. Luckily for them, lip service is enough for Fundies and Catholics.

Are you refering to the living breathing adults that take someone's life in a horrendous way with no remorse or shame. The ones that are old enough to know right from wrong and do it anyway.
Now you are comparing that living, breathing adult to a baby that had no say so about being brought into this world...but was just the "mistake" of some person who doesn't want to face the consequences of their actions.
A "fetus" that at week 11 all major organs have now been formed. And even baby's tiny nose is beginning to develop, and may be complete by week 15.
At week 12 the "fetus" is looking more and more like a baby and has advanced to the stage that its brain can transmit messages. Vocal chords are complete, and your baby can and does sometimes cry (silently). The brain is fully formed, and baby-to-be can feel pain; he may even suck his thumb! Eyelids now cover his eyes, and will remain shut until the seventh month to protect his delicate optical nerve fibers.
Yeah, Nice comparison.

Bunch of good answers, but yes selfish, scared or medical, the only reason. Also a 40 million aliens* in the country and many have become citizens.
They may compromise, like they will do on the amnesty bill, make 'em citizens and then build the fence while another 8 million sneak in and don't forget about the 3+ million** that fly here on visas and don't leave when they expire, like you know many of the 9/11 terrorist. Funny how no one mentions them..
Compromise on this, how about instead of injection or gas, just drill a hole in the criminals head and suck his brains out. The ACLU would not be able to say anything about that, that may be the way to stop that.
Should be "why do some ....."?

Well, I have mixed views on the death penalty. I can only feel so much pity because you have to do something really bad to get it. However, abortion is unacceptable, morally and combine that with the scientific facts and health statistics. As a Republican, I value life in general. That means being tough on terrorists, rapists and murderers, because innocent civilians dont deserve terror, rape or murder. That is why I support the war on terror. Fight those who want to kill and kill a lot. I dont want those extremists to succeed. I hate killing, but war is justified in some cases, and the war against terrorism is one of those cases. The fetus is also human. Some of our so-intelligent leaders (being sarcastic) try to tell us that a fetus is not a human, well, what is it? a dog? use common sense combined with humane values, the abortion debate is not that much of debate, its still legal due to corruption in our govt and on both sides.
I see pain, I see need
I see liars and thieves

believe me, their time will come when they have to face the consequences for their choices.

Conversely, why do liberals care so little about a fetus but throw everything including the kitchen sink in order to save the life of a career killer who is on death row and has no redeeming value to society?
One life's potential is terminated before it gets started.
The other life's potential has been wasted on affecting humanity in a negative way.

As someone who was adopted, I thank God that my mother chose to give me life and not death. The people that choose abortion are nothing more than selfish people that don't want the hardship of 9 months of pregnancy. I am the husband of a pregnant wife, and I know its not easy, but, there are alternatives to killing a baby. The only time I think abortion should be allowed is in the case of continuing the pregnancy killing the mother. Otherwise, that child deserves a chance at life. If the mother is unwilling to care for and raise the child, there are hundreds of families that are.

And it's not just adults, conservatives' attitudes towards the unborn child change once the woman has given birth, And they start to feel a little less more negative.

come on both Democracts and Republicans are wrong on this...you either support life and are against abortion and the death penalty or your for a limit on the price of life and your for abortion and the death penalty...or your just contradicting yourself....
by the way you can reverse this question and it would be just as valid of a question to Democrats
