I have, several times. Always an adventure.
Heck, my brain squirms, too, but more like a lizard.
Seriously though, I almost never pick any one up any more, but I almost never see anyone hitch-hiking. It was common back in my teens. I traveled the country several times that way.
I was on the road one summer day, and had just put my thumb out in Charlotte, nc. My first ride asked me where I was headed. I told him boulder co. he said he was just gping to denver, but thought that would help some. We had a good time.

No I would not, because if you give this man a ride sweet family will die, he's a killer on the road.
